In May of this year, an announcement was made of a planned merger between two regional conglomerates, Neal & Massy Holdings Limited (NML) and Barbados Shipping & Trading Company (BS&T). This soon evolved into a full scale bidding war as ANSA McAL Holdings Limited (AMCL) battled NML for control of the Barbadian conglomerate.
